Daisy Point
Daisy Point () is a headland extending seaward from the high rocky shore on the east side of the Bay of Isles, South Georgia. It lies west of Cape Wilson, near the entrance to Beckmann Fjord. The name ''Low Point'' was given for this feature, probably by Discovery Investigations personnel who charted this area in 1929. Following its survey in 1951–52, the South Georgia Survey reported that this part of the coast is high and rugged, and the point, though relatively low by comparison, does not merit the description "low." The new name, recommended by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1954, is after the sealing brig ''Daisy'' of New Bedford, Massachusetts, which under Captain Benjamin D. Cleveland visited the Bay of Isles in 1912–13.〔 == References ==
